'How To Get Away With Murder' Mid-Season Finale Recap: Caleb Has To Be The Guilty One

"How to Get Away with Murder" season 2 mid-season finale revealed who shot Annalise Keating (Viola Davis). This is one of the biggest mysteries of the sophomore run of the ABC TV series. What's the other one? The Hapstall murder case.

The two plots were introduced in second season's pilot. However, the latter is a bit of a slow burn. Caleb and Catherine Hapstall was the first case of the season for Annalise and her students and it is taking them too long to solve it. Did the two murder their adoptive parents?

There are some theories made by fans and cast members but so far, all of them are just opinion. Fans might have to wait a little longer since the "How to Get Away with Murder" season 2 mid-season finale did not put and end to that case.

For Kendrick Sampson, who plays Caleb, there has to be some way that his character will end up the guilty one but not necessarily of the killing of their parents.

"I'm not so concerned with it as I am figuring out what Caleb is guilty of, because he has to be, who's not on this show?" he told Vanity Fair.

Although he believes Caleb is not exactly an innocent person, he insists that he approach his character as if he has never committed a crime before.

"Even if they're like play this completely innocent and do what I think," he said. "I really always think there should be a little underpinning of guilt."

It is not just Sampson who finds Caleb suspicious, even Charlie Weber who plays henchman Frank.

"As an audience member, I really have my eye on Caleb," he told Entertainment Weekly earlier this month. "I'm really unsure about him and what he's capable of."

In another interview, executive producer Peter Nowalk said they will not let Hapstall case stay unsolved for too long when they return on February next year.

"Without having written past Episode 11, yes I hope we do," he told TV Line. "It's not my goal to leave a case like that lingering too long."
