Disney To Bring Harrison Ford Back In 'Indiana Jones 5' Movie? 'Star Wars' Star Finally Speaks!

Nov 27, 2015 12:50 AM EST | By Sherylyn Toda

An "Indiana Jones 5" movie may still be in the early stages of development, but Disney is surely pushing through with the sequel as long as Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy is concerned.

"When it will happen, I'm not quite sure," Kennedy told Vanity Fair of the planned project. "We haven't started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it."

And with reports claiming that Disney is going ahead with a follow up to the hit classic adventure movie come speculations about the sequel's casting lineup.

While many believed that Harrison Ford would most likely be replaced for a much younger actor, the 73-year-old veteran actor has finally spoken about the idea of a fifth sequel to "Indiana Jones."

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly for the cover of  "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," Ford gamely shared his thoughts.

"Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'd love to do another Indiana Jones," he exclaimed as he sat at a round picnic table by the hangar. "A character that has a history and a potential, kind of a rollicking good movie ride for the audience, Steven Spielberg as a director - what's not to like?"

And while Ford is ready to reprise his role once more, Disney is reportedly eyeing on "Jurassic World" star Chris Pratt to play the new Indy.

Cinema Blend reported that Pratt is the frontrunner to Disney's planned "Indiana Jones 5."

While Pratt has yet to confirm the news, Steven Spielberg has already expressed his interest in returning to direct the movie.

According to Deadline the award winning director/producer is willing to get his hands on the project "assuming a script comes in to his satisfaction."

Could Harrison Ford return and reprise his role in "Indiana Jones 5," or would a much younger actor finally replace him?
