Man Charged in Murder of Estranged Wife at Jacksonville Applebees (VIDEO)

A man has been charged in the murder of his wife in a Jacksonville Applebee's Sunday according to police Fox television station affiliate WAWS in Jacksonville.

Sheridan Veney, 44 is charged with murder according to police WAWS reported.

Veney was reportedly with his 18-year-old daughter at the company's location on Lane Avenue according to police WAWS reported. The daughter's mother, Lisa was also present.

Sheridan and Lisa which were reportedly separated according to WAWS, then got into a dispute which led to Sheridan shooting Lisa five times while she was walking to the door to the restaurant according to police WJXT reported.

Sheridan stayed at the restaurant, and reportedly acknowledged his actions according to police WJXT reported. He was kept by witnesses until police came on scene according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office WJXT reported. Homicide investigators met with members of the crowd who saw the incident Sunday.

"They said there was a shooting. They heard three or four shots maybe more, they dove under the table and they crawled out the back door," Charlie Westmoreland whose friend's daughter and their friend were inside told Fox television station affiliate WAWS in Jacksonville.

The daughter was spending time with relatives in the Jacksonville area. She is originally from North Carolina, and is in the military WJXT reported.

"My daughter and her friend were inside eating and they heard 4 or 5 gunshots," Jennifer Ford whose daughter was also in the restaurant during the incident, told Jacksonville television station WJXT. "(The girl ran through the door saying) "he just shot my mom. They hit the deck and my daughter went over the booth to the next booth, her friend went under and they had to crawl out through the back and they hid in the bushes and called police, who told her to stay in the bushes until they got there," Ford said.

The daughter, who was not harmed during the incident, went to the hospital with the mother WJXT reported.
