A high school biology teacher in Iowa is 37 pounds lighter after eating solely McDonalds for 90 days the Examiner reported Sunday.

John Cisna, an educator at Colo-Nesco High School got the idea from 2004's McDonald's documentary "Super Size Me" by Morgan Spurlock.

"The point behind this documentary is its choice. We all have choices," Cisna told Mail Online. "It's our choices that make us fat, not McDonald's."

Cisna informed three of his students of the challenge when school began last year North Carolina Fox television affiliate WGHP reported Sunday.

Cisna was determined to find out if he was capable of consuming anything edible at McDonald's and not gain an extra pound. Cisna also wanted to chart how his body would react to the feat. He was able to teach his students valuable information about life in the end, WGHP reported.

Cisna followed a 2,000 calorie diet, and used the suggested dietary allowances for carbohydrates, proteins, fat calories, and cholesterol North Carolina Fox television station WGHP. The teacher's cholesterol decreased 249 to 170. Cisna also exercised for 45 minutes daily, including walking.

"I had the Big Macs, the Quarter Pounders with cheese," Cisna told KCCI. "I had sundaes, I had ice cream cones. A typical breakfast would be two egg white delights, a bowl of their maple oatmeal and a one percent milk," Cisna told WGHP.

Cisna ate a salad for lunch and food considered to be more normal for dinner.

"This isn't something where you say well he went to McDonalds and he only had the salads," Cisna told WGHP.

The McDonald's owner allowed Cisna to receive free meals for the three months because of his interest WGHP reported.
