‘Weirdmageddon 3’ Not The End? Creator Alex Hirsch Hints Future ‘Gravity Falls’ Project

Disney XD had already announced that the most anticipated series and Season 2 finale of "Gravity Falls" will be "sometime in January to March;" still, fans continue to hope that it would not be the last time they would see Dipper and Mabel Pines and company.

Fans may now rejoice as "Gravity Falls" creator Alex Hirsch hinted on a recent interview that the Season 2 finale dubbed as "Weirdmageddon 3" will definitely not be the last for the most watched animated series of Disney XD.

In a report published by Yibada, Alex Hirsch admitted that not every single question will be answered in the finale, saying that with all the theories formulated by the fans of "Gravity Falls," it has become impossible to provide answers to all questions.

A Reddit user previously speculated that the demise of "Gravity Falls" may have been brought about by obsessive fans who have become so advanced with their theories that "they have long predicted" parts of the series.

Wired, in its report, wrote: "There's a theory (on Reddit, of course) that fans' obsessive deconstruction gave them too much insight about the show's ultimate twist, so Hirsch himself decided to cut short what was originally meant to be a longer series."

But while that has not been confirmed yet, what Alex Hirsch's said to be the other purpose for still leaving a little mystery after the finale will certainly excite the fans.

Alex Hirsch, himself, confirmed that part of the purpose of not giving answers to all the questions during the finale is to give a leeway for possible future "Gravity Falls" projects.

He said, "Will every single conceivable question ever thought of about 'Gravity Falls' be answered in the end? Of course not. But that just leaves some material for any potential 'Gravity Falls' projects in the future (including the canon Journal #3 that goes on sale in 2016)..."
