A five-year old from San Deigo discovered an Xbox Live login flaw, which he used to bypass login security on his father's Xbox.

BBC reported that Kristoffer Von Hassel found a way to access his father's Xbox Live account without a password.

"The boy would enter a wrong password into the sign-in screen, bringing up a second password verification screen which he could then bypass by simply filling the field up with space bars," Independent said.

ABC 10 News said that Kristoffer's hack was sent to Microsoft by his father.

"Just after Christmas, Kristoffer's parents noticed he was logging into his father's Xbox Live account and playing games he wasn't supposed to be," said bestvpn . The boy then showed his father how he exploited the vulnerability by proceeding to password verification screen.

ABC 10 News also reported that it was not the first time the boy has showed his aptitude to hacks.

"He's figured out vulnerabilities 3 or 4 times," his father Davies who works in cyber security said.

The father also said that Kristoffer undermined a toddler security lock on a phone when he was just one by holding down the home key.

"I got nervous. I thought he was going to find out. I thought someone was going to steal the Xbox," Independent reported Kristoffer saying in an interview with local KGTV.

Microsoft fixed the flaw after it was brought to its notice by the Von Hassels.

"We're always listening to our customers and thank them for bringing issues to our attention. We take security seriously at Xbox and fixed the issue as soon as we learned about it" a Microsoft statement on BBC read.

For his contribution, Kristoffer has been rewarded with four free games and a one-year Xbox Live subscription. His name appears on a page Microsoft users to thank people who point out problems in its products.
