Self-proclaimed Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj finally releases the video of her latest single, 'Anaconda'. Packed with sultry dancers set in the jungle, titillated fans had nothing but applause for the 31-year-old Nicki.
Prior to the video release, Minaj put her allies to work and unleashed the risqué cover art of the single. With nothing but a pink G-strong to dress her bottom, this photo made quite a buzz when it was released by end of July. Promising that the music will follow a week after through iTunes, this controversial photo generated quite a storm, tickling her audience even more. This cover art however garnered a Parental Advisory tag in some digital music stores, which was 'not acceptable' according to Minaj.
Through social media, termed as the 'Black Lady Gaga', Nicki managed to hold the suspense further by delaying the release of the single a week more. Disappointed fans braved messaging the singer but to no avail.
Minaj humbly posted: "My darlingz, I've pushed the release of Anaconda to next week, Monday 8/4. I promise you will understand why before the week is out."
Although the single reportedly leaked on the first day of August, it was officially released to the public in August 4th. 'Anaconda' was originally recorded but not released by Missy Elliot, then re-recorded by Nicki for the 'The Pink Print' album.
Finally after all the controversies, Nicki Minaj 'Anaconda' video is released to the public on August 20. With all the promises of Minaj twerking and racy costumes, the video lives up to its teaser cover art and photos. With lyrics that include Sir Mix-A-Lot's 'Baby Got Back' from the 90's, there couldn't be a more fitting mash up.
Album release of 'The Pink Print' that contains the first single 'Pills N Potions' and 'Anaconda' is set for release this year, with no date announced yet. Fans are clamoring for the next surprise following the Nicki Minaj 'Anaconda' video.
