"Promotheus 2" release date set for 2016!

It's been more than three decades since moviegoers experienced the horrors of extraterrestrial domination in a storyline that does not disappoint. "Prometheus 2" is on the works, and sci-fi fans are now gearing up for the second part of another heart-racing prequel to the 1986 "Aliens" of Sigourney Weaver.

Initially set for 2015 and pushed back another year, "Prometheus 2" release date has been officially set to early 2016. This was due to the conflict in schedule of Ridley Scott (Director) and Damon Lindelof (Screenwriter).

Initially, creators of "Prometheus" released in 2012 were indecisive in making another sequel. Audiences took to the web to find answers to questions about the origin of man. While the "Alien" franchise focused on the destruction and extinction of man, "Prometheus" dwells on the possible origins of man.

Damon Lindelof explains the scope of "Prometheus":

"...We're exploring the future...away from Earth and [asking] what are people like now? Space exploration in the future is going to evolve into this idea that it's not just about going out there are finding planets to build colonies. It also has this inherent idea that the further we go out, the more we learn about ourselves. The characters in this movie are preoccupied by the idea: what are our origins?"

Speculations about storyline of course surface online. "Prometheus 2: Paradise" runs with the tagline "The search has only just begun", highlighting Elizabeth (Noomi Rapace) and David (Michael Fassbender). Whether the plot revolves only around these two characters or the same characters but multiple pieces of them, "Prometheus 2" continues to stimulate the audience's curiosity.

Conjectures on the possible adventure of the two main characters focus on the human ancestors called "The Engineers". Other cast members such as Guy Pearce are expressing willingness to reprise their roles, however only Rapace and Fassbender are in the official roster so far.

"Prometheus 2: Paradise" begins filming this fall, shooting in locations as far as Australia.
