Hannibal Season 3 Spoilers: Show To Be Divided Into Two Chapters; Plus, Who's Alive, Who's Not?

There's no date yet on Hannibal Season 3's premier but there's a lot of stuff going on already inside the writers' room. Show's executive producer and writer Steve Lightfoot has told Digital Spy that the third season of the NBC drama will be more fun than the first two. This is because of the plot and path that the cast will be taking and the additional, familiar characters, that is if you've followed the book where the show was based from.

"I feel there's more opportunity for more fun, for sure. The roof had come in so low and so intense in season two with all those people under it ... we can't bring everyone back and have them be even more intense than before, so we've got to mix up the attitudes and that's really exciting in the writer's room," he said.

The first chapter will see Hannibal Lecter (played by Mads Mikkelsen) still on the run and is chased by Will Graham (played by Hugh Dancy). In the last episode of season two, Hannibal was seen on a plane sitting side by side with Gillian Anderson's icy Bedelia Du Maurier. Showrunner Bryan Fuller told Digital Spy that the third season will be like a "new pilot for a series starring Gillian Anderson and Mads Mikkelsen." The couple are on the run and will be like Bonnie and Clyde.

"These characters are out in the world, living under aliases it's The Talented Mr Lecter!"

Second chapter will elevate the suspense as the show will use some elements from the book Red Dragon. Lightfoot said that there will be episodes that will be told based on the point of view of Francis Dolarhyde, the book's main antagonist.

"I'm superexcited about Dolarhyde," says Lightfoot. "He's the most interesting of the killers in the Harris books for me because he wants to stop.

"What we get that the movies never had is time to give him a point of view and to live with him, as we live with Will we will spend time in Dolarhyde's POV and tell his story."
