"Bourne" 5 movie news continue to surface online.

With majority of the audiences' uninspired by the fourth installment of the "Bourne" franchise, it didn't seem like it was profitable to create another one. However strong a cliffhanger "The Bourne Legacy" (2007) left its audiences, critics have been skeptic about another possible lackluster un-thriller spy film in "Bourne" movie 5. News about production and updates nevertheless are available online.

According to Rotten Tomato, critical reception of the film was at it's lowest in the fourth installment. "The Bourne Legacy" merely stood at 56% of the total 208 reviews.

Regardless of the attributes of these reviews, whether it was production or casting issues, critics in general have feared the franchise may have lost its appeal with audiences. Although the movie has earned more than $1 billion worldwide in the box office, a decline in audiences could continue on to the fifth installment if producers aren't careful.

"The Bourne" franchise follows the story of Jason Bourne (played by Matt Damon) in his struggle to regain his memory as a CIA assassin. Based on the book of the same name written by Robert Ludlum, the first three films focused on Jason Bourne, while the last shifted the spotlight towards character Aaron Cross played by Jeremy Renner.
