Samsung Galaxy S4 VS S5: Is 2014's flagship device worth the upgrade?

Samsung has conquered the Android world since its first launch of the Galaxy S series. The Galaxy S series had sold more than 160 million units. Samsung Galaxy S3 has the highest sales among the Galaxy S series. So what's with the Galaxy Series that had dominated all the android platforms? Is it worth our money to upgrade every year for a new Galaxy S series phone?

Let's compare the latest two Galaxy S series, the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy S5.

Both phones have  1080p Super AMOLED screen display and  there is a little difference in  the screen size: Samsung S4 has 5.0 inch display while Samsung S5 pulls off a 5.1 inch.  We can say that this difference is unnoticeable, but comparing the clarity of display, S5 offers better color and crisp images.

These two devices come in 16Gb or 32Gb internal storage variants with an external card slot that can store up to 128GB of data.

When it comes to performance, the S5 is a more powerful device than the S4. The S5 comes with Snapdragon 801 processor while the latter comes in Snapdragon 600 processor.

S5 is a great device to those who loves to multitask: play games, browse the internet  and stream their favorite shows/video. S5 carries the upgraded Adreno 330 from S4's Adreno 320.

Mobile photography and social media have been part of everyone's everyday life. S5 offers a 16MP Camera with ISOCELL technology, which makes it a better camera phone than S4's 13MP camera. Also, S5 is the only device that gives you the option of 4k video recording. Well, that means it can produce high quality videos.

When it comes to battery life, S5 steps it ip a notch at 2,800 mAh compared to S4's 2,600 mAh. Also the S5's ultra-power-save mode is a great use for emergency calls and texts.

Other features that makes the S5 a more developed phone are its biometric lock using fingerprint sensor and heart rate monitor.

If you want a phone that can keep up with your active lifestyle, we can say that upgrading your Samsung Galaxy S4 to Samsung Galaxy S5 is still a good choice. Check out for more news about Samsung Galaxy Series here!
