After tiffs with the police, new Justin Bieber news suggest that the singer has been charged with assault and dangerous driving in Toronto after his quad bike crashed into a minivan.

In a statement given to E! News, the singer's attorney Brian H. Greenspan said that, "Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez's peaceful retreat in Stratford this weekend was unfortunately disrupted by the unwelcome presence of paparazzi. This has regrettably resulted in charges of dangerous driving and assault. Mr. Bieber and Ms. Gomez have fully cooperated in the police investigation. We are hopeful that this matter will be quickly resolved."

Reports said Bieber spent days in Ontario last week. He was with friends and Gomez, who seems to be in a relationship again with the Canadian singer.

E! News also reported that according to a release from the Ontario Provincial Police, on August 29, Friday afternoon, there was a collision between a minivan and an ATV. Investigation revealed that after colliding, Bieber and an occupant of the minivan engaged in a physical altercation. Bieber was then charged with dangerous driving and assault.

Justin Bieber news added that the songwriter was released on a promise that he will attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on September 29 to answer the charges against him.

Bieber is already facing an assault charge in Toronto due to altercation with a limo driver and a passenger last December.

TMZ sources said that an investigation has been launched to determine if his arrest constitutes a violation of his two years probation for throwing eggs at his neighbor's house in Los Angeles. The sources added that they will contact law enforcement in Canada to confirm the incident's details.

According to the sources, probation officers have a month to notify the court if there was indeed a violation of the probation. The court will then decide if the "Baby" singer's probation is revoked, and if he is to be put behind bars, TMZ reported.
