Producers of the longest running franchise has confirmed that "Friday The 13th' 2015 movie is finally in the works!
The American horror franchise that made the fictional character Jason Voorhees popular in the slasher genre is yet again to make it to the big screen. With a total of 12 films of "Friday The 13th" released since its first 1980 debut, the 13th installment has been set to 2015 according to reports.
Jason Voorhees is the lead character in the franchise. He is said to have drowned as a boy at Camp Crystal lake. His death releases a violent curse and as camp-goers populate the summer destination, Jason returns to avenge his horrifying death.
The last installment released in 2009 under the same title received relatively average ratings with only 25% approval ratings according to Rotten Tomatoes. Reviews according to the site explains, "Though technically well-constructed, 'Friday the 13th' is a series rehash that features little to distinguish it from its predecessors."
Early in June, news of "Friday the 13th" 2015 movie will be released according to Paramount Pictures. According to actor Derek Mears (2009 Jason Voorhees) in his interview with BloodyDisgusting, "I spoke to Brad Fuller and he said that the rights are, as everyone knows, over at Paramount and they're publishing hard. They're going 'we want [a new Friday the 13th movie] as fast as possible.' So now we have confirmation that Platinum Dunes, the production company behind the 2009 remake, is partnering with Paramount for the sequel to 'Friday the 13th'!"
Among the many actors playing Jason Voorhees and the many more waiting to get their chance to play the villain, producer Bryan Fuller explains to MovieWeb about who gets to play slasher in the upcoming "Friday the 13th 2015 movie. He says, "'Is Derek Mears going to be playing Jason'? I said, 'I don't know who the character is going to be, or at what point in his we are going to be engaging in him with.'"
"Friday the 13th" 2015 movie will be release in November 13, according to reports.
