Choice Hotels International, Inc. and Concord Hotels, two leaders in hospitality management, get the show on the road by hosting a beer tasting competition that brings to light breweries in the area.

The winner of the competition will be determined by a panel of judges which includes local Chef and Bravo's "Top Chef" contestant Chef Mike Isabella.

The champion will be featured in the hotel's superb list of local craft beers including: Flying Dog, DC Brau, Starr Hill, DogFish Head, Port City, 3 stars and Old Dominion.

Attendees include local dignitaries, local business partners, neighboring businesses and relatives and friends of Choice Hotels.

The beer competition will encourage and help mobilize the District's local beer community.

"Washington D.C. is a primary urban market for Choice Hotels, which is headquarters in nearby Rockville, Maryland and like all Cambria hotels & suites properties, the D.C. property is heavily influenced by the local community,"  senior vice president of upscale brands at Choice Hotels Michael Murphy stated.

"Our extensive research has shown that craft beer and dining options are important to millennial travellers, and the Cambria hotels & suites brand wants to embrace the desires of millennial travellers by offering an all new, elevated food & beverage program aimed at providing an engaging guest experience-an experience where craft beer will continue to be a focal point in the Cambria bar. We are thrilled to support local breweries and offer another local beer to our guests," Murphy added.

Aside from the beer competition, the guests were welcomed warmly by music and festivities. A local street performer and an eclectic terrazzo staircase lit with LED amaze the guests upon arrival.

Food was served by Cambria Chef Michael DeMaria during the grand opening.

The hotel boasts of 9 stories and 182 hotel rooms, with stunning view of the U.S. Capitol and other national monuments.

The hotel is located at 899 O Street NW in Shaw neighbourhood and near the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
