Mads Mikkelsen sat down with Digital Spy and talked about his role as Dr. Hannibal Lecter in the NBC series. He didn't provide much Hannibal Season 3 spoiler but he shared something that he wants to happen once the show returns.
In second season's finale, Dr. Lecter was seen leaving for somewhere together with Dr. Bedelia (played by Gillian Anderson). That is after he left Will Graham, Special Agent Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne), and Alana Bloom (Caroline Dhavernas) soaking in their own blood. Previous Hannibal Season 3 spoilers revealed that the sophisticated psychiatrist/cannibal will be in Europe together with Dr. Bedelia wherein they will post as couple while hunting a new victim. While Hannibal has already found a partner, Mikkelsen said that his mind will be fixated with thoughts of Will Graham.
"Obviously I look forward to seeing what's between me and Bedelia - I have a hunch it's going to be interesting! But I'm definitely going to miss Will, and hopefully he will crop up in either a dream or a nightmare, a mental relationship so that we can actually spend some time together again in the show," the Danish actor said.
Mikkelsen said that what he will miss the most is the on-screen relationship of the two characters.
"Obviously we've been working together non-stop for two years, and we've created a relationship on-screen - and a work relationship as well - that we're really happy and proud of, and feel comfortable with. So hopefully we'll dig it up again, but I'm also ready for a new round with something else."
Earlier Hannibal Season 3 spoiler revealed that the pilot episode will be more about Gillian Anderson's Dr. Bedelia and Mikkelsen said that it means more time off for Hugh Dancy.
"That is quite exciting! That means that Hugh is going to get a lot of time off. Well that's okay, he just had a little boy last year, so I think he needs it."
