Burger King Introduces The "Kuro Burger" Or Black Burger In Japan: Do You Dare Eat It?

These are the eye-widening ingredients of Burger King’s new product which is only available in Japan. According to Yahoo reports, the “Kuro Burger” which is the Japanese translation of ‘black burger’ consists of a black bun, meat with black pepper, and black cheese. The bread and cheese contain bamboo charcoal, popular in Japanese cuisine. The sandwich also has an onion-and-garlic sauce made dark with squid ink.

Burger King is offering two variations of Kuro, one is the Kuro Pearl which is filled with basic ingredients while the Kuro Diamond is spruced up with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, which add a little color to the dark sandwich.

In a report from Fox News, there are mixed reactions to the unusual looking burger, Kuah Kia Wei, a 14 year-old student from Malaysia, says, "I like it because it has a very interesting taste to it and it's nothing that I've tasted before." While some are not impressed at all like Julien Tirode, a 37 year-old event planner from France who was a little disappointed with the product, “It has no special taste or anything. Yes, the burger is black, the cheese is black, there's little black stuff in the meat, but other than that, there's nothing special to me."

The Kuro Burger made its debut in 2012 and gets its unusual coloring from bamboo charcoal bread and squid ink sauce. Because of the popularity it has gained with the Japanese audience, it came again the following year as the bacon-covered Kuro Ninja burger.
