GameStop, leading video game and electronics retailer revealed their intention to hire more employees to gear up for this Holiday season.

The number of people GameStop is going to hire this year is 47 percent higher than the same period last year, which means business is getting stronger for one of the world's reputable electronics retailer.

The upsurge in employment reflects GameStop's commitment to provide quality service in the nearing holiday season packed with great new video games for game consoles like Microsoft's Xbox One, the Ninetendo Wii U and Sony's PlayStation 4.

Furthermore, 2,800 GameStop branches will also be having Cricket Wireless' no-annual contract service.

The retailer giant's consumer electronics re-commerce business will reportedly be going up and about as customers will be trading their secondhand devices to get the latest offering of Apple, the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6 Plus.

"Providing exceptional customer service is the cornerstone of our brand's promise to make our customers' favorite technologies affordable and simple," said Mike Buskey, senior vice president of Human Resources for GameStop.

"To deliver on this promise, we are increasing our seasonal hiring efforts this year to ensure our stores, distribution centers and refurbishment operation center are appropriately staffed to meet the customer demand we expect to receive during the holidays, " Buskey added.

Since GameStop will be expecting its busiest season this year, the company is currently hiring Game Advisors, 250 consumer electronic technicians for its refurbishment operation center (ROC) and warehouse personnel to be places in the company's two distribution centers in Grapevine, TX and Louisville, KY.

GameStop will reportedly be starting to hire in the next few days until the middle of Oct.

Seasonal jobs will be offered Oct. 6 through Jan. 9. Interested applicants may work as part-time employees, and work schedules of up to 10-15 hours of work during weeknights, weekday and weekends. They will also receive 15 percent discount on selected GameStop products.
