Papa John’s NFL preseason schedule kick-off campaign launched

Pizza franchise Papa John's has announced its newest media campaign: a joint effort with Peyton Manning to launch the 2014 NFL season-the company is the football league's official pizza sponsor.

Television ads featuring Peyton Manning and Papa John's CEO John Schnatter have been featured nationally, where the two appear to trade jokes.

"Peyton knows football, and Papa knows pizza," Tor Myhren, Grey's worldwide chief creative officer, said, according to Ad Week.

"These are two incredibly charismatic guys, so the campaign is designed to let them be themselves and talk about what they know."

But football isn't the only sport Papa John's is offering promotions for.

Cherry Hill, N.J. residents "have only until Friday to celebrate the hallowed shortstop's career over a $2 medium cheese pizza at Papa John's," the Courier Post reports.

Papa John's is offering a promotion where a $10.75 pie can be discounted by entering the promotion code THANKYOU2 upon checkout at their website.

The pizza franchise is the fourth largest take-out restaurant in the country and is based in Jeffersontown, Kentucky.
