Jason Derulo has revealed the reason why he and his long-time girlfriend Jordin Sparks had ended their relationship.
Derulo, 25, appeared last Monday on "On Air With Ryan Seacrest" and openly admitted that pressures on marriage was one of the factors that contributed to the couple's decision to split.
According to Derulo, "What happened ... in a nutshell, there was a lot of tension in the relationship for a lot of different reasons. Every relationship has ups and downs. There was a lot of pressures of marriage. There was a lot of arguing and stuff like that that just weighed on our relationship over time. When you stop having more good times than bad times, it's time to call it quits. It becomes something that is unhealthy."
Derulo also revealed to Seacrest as well as ABC News this information to eliminate any negative public speculation about their split. Derulo said to ABC News, "Due to bogus and irresponsible lies being reported by insensitive media outlets it became necessary for me to comment. I spent three great years with Jordin and she is one of the most amazing people that I have ever met." The singer added, "But as in all relationships there are ups and downs and at this time we have decided to amicably part. Infidelity, cheating or deceit played no part in our relationship or our break-up. And I hope that people respect our privacy as we move forward with our lives."
The break-up was very amicable as the two came out last week Thursday of their split but with very good comments about it. Last Friday, Sparks posted in Twitter a message saying, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks have been together for three years before breaking up just a few days ago.
