Harley Davidson Launches ‘Experience Tour’ for ‘Project LiveWire’

Oct 01, 2014 08:47 PM EDT | By Julia Maire Francisco

American motorcycle company Harley Davidson is set to launch "The Experience Tour" to promote their first ever motorcycle with an electric engine on October 9-11 in Southern California, 2015 in Europe and Canada.

"Project LiveWire", which was showcased in the second quarter of 2014, is the first electric motorcycle developed by the company.

According to their website, the project is developed to "bring innovation to the street" and to gain feedback from their loyal customers.

"We're inviting customers to ride the motorcycle [LiveWire] and tell us what they think," Harley Davidson stated in their website for the project.

They are also inviting non-riders with no riding experience or motorcycle license to try the simulated riding experience "Jumpstart" demo.

"We're out there giving the customers an opportunity to really have greater input, and for us to glean information and use that for the future," said Kirk Rasmussen, LiveWire Styling Manager in a statement.

The "LiveWire" is not yet available in the market but the company is waiting on the response from the customers and the overall outcome of the project whether or not they will mass-produce the electric bike for the market.

"This is a journey we're taking with our customers to discover how good we can make the ride. We're taking the 'Project LiveWire' motorcycle experience around the country this year, and continue in the US, Canada and Europe in 2015. We'll gain feedback from real riders on what they are looking for in this type of vehicle from Harley-Davidson® Motorcycle. Any final decisions about whether to bring an electric motorcycle to market - and when - will be made at a later date," the company said.

There is no news about the release of the project in Asia and other continents.

It was also revealed in the previous San Diego Comicon that the "LiveWire" will also be seen in Marvel's "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" as Natasha Romanoff's (Scarlett Johansson) ride of choice.
