The upcoming fantasy film "The Seventh Son" movie release date has been delayed again as distributor changes from Warner Bros. to Universal Studios. The cast talks about filming the movie in an interview.

"The Seventh Son" is an adaptation of a young adult novel titled "The Spook's Apprentice" written by Joseph Delaney. The synopsis according to Amazon states, "A wonderful and terrifying series by a new writer about a young boy training to be an exorcist. Thomas Ward is the seventh son of a seventh son and has been apprenticed to be the local Spook. The job is hard, the Spook is distant and many apprentices have failed before Thomas. Somehow Thomas must learn now to exorcise ghosts, contain witches and bind boggarts. But when he is tricked into freeing Mother Malkin, the most evil witch in the Country, the horror begins..."

Thomas Ward is portrayed by Ben Barnes known as Caspian in "The Chronicles of Narnia", and as Dorian Gray in the self-titled movie. He is joined by legendary actor Jeff Bridges who plays John Gregory, the Spook, as well as award-winning actress Julianne Moore who portrays the evil Mother Malkin. Other cast members include Alicia Vikander ("Anna Karenina"), Kit Harrington ("Game of Thrones"), and Djimon Hounsou who plays original character Rady.

Jeff Bridges talks about the movie during Comic-Con: "I'm a big fan of myth and mythology, and I saw this as a chance to make a modern-day myth. It also talks about good and evil. My idea is that good and evil are really different sides of the same coin."

Kit Harrington shares his experience working with big names like Bridges and Moore: "I wanted to do this film 'cause I got to work exclusively with Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore, which is something I really wanted to do when I found out the casting.  It was a really exciting, action-packed role.  It was a lot of fun."

Originally, "The Seventh Son" movie release date was set on February 22, 2013, but was pushed back to October due to production issues. As Legendary Pictures separated from Warner Bros., the rights to distribution also shifted to Universal Studies. This resulted to "The Seventh Son" movie release date to be set the following year, January 17, 2014. However due to Universal Studios scheduling, "The Seventh Son" movie release date is currently set further away, with a February 6, 2015 release date.
