The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced on Tuesday that it has approved the sale of an electronic headband that can treat migraine headaches. The device is called Cefaly, and is made by Cefaly Technology in Belgium.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has been looking into harmful effects that new cholesterol drugs have on cognitive function. Sanofi SA, one of the large drug firms developing the drugs, said in its annual report on Friday that the FDA asked them to evaluate the neurocognitive negative impacts of its drugs, one of which is called PCSK9 inhibitors.
The consumer advocacy group Public Citizen is pushing for the Food and Drug Administration to add a warning label of heart attacks and other cardiovascular issues on testosterone drugs. Public Citizen said the FDA should put a “black box” warning to all drugs used to treat testosterone.
Zohydro, a new painkiller approved by the Food and Drug Administration, is scheduled to be available at pharmacies next month, but is meeting plenty of opposition by people who say the pill has “frightening” effects”.
