Usher Talks About His Protegé Justin Bieber: "I can say I'm not happy with all the choices my friend has made, but I'm supportive of him"

The 36-year old singer shared to Billboard magazine what he thought of Justin Bieber's current state, "I'll punch him in the f***g chest when I need to, and give him a hug and kiss when I need to," Usher told the magazine. "Our relationship is more man-to-man now. I try my hardest to give as much positive reinforcement as I can,' he added "It's more than just mentoring. I love the kid."

According to reports, this wasn't the first time the 'Confessions' singer said something about Bieber, last June, Usher came to Bieber's defense after a video of the 20-year old singer mouthing the word 'ni---' went online.

"As I have watched Justin Bieber navigate difficult waters as a young man, I can tell you that he hasn't always chosen the path of his greatest potential, but he is unequivocally not a racist," Usher wrote.
"What he is now is a young man faced with an opportunity to become his best self, an example to the millions of kids that follow him to not make the same mistakes."

The 'Baby' singer went from being wholesome to a totally different level after making tabloid headlines in 2013 for some of his actions. Following his first movie 'Never Say Never', he then shared a sequel 'Believe'.

“With success comes great responsibility. And being able to grow up in it and unfortunately be analyzed in front of the world for just growing up, I think they will be able to see the truth,” Usher said. “And they can make an assessment based off of what his reality looks like.
