Android Lollipop And Apple iOS 8: An Overview Of The Popular Mobile Platform; Which One Is Better?

Android Lollipop and Apple iOs 8: it's been a tough competition between Android and Apple's OS over the years.

Apple released its iOS 8 last month and had faced issues with its new iOS and released an update that the company claims that they already fixed the bugs.

Many had claimed that iOS 8 is far beyond expectations, but rumors suggest that Android 5.0 may beat iOS 8.

Recently, Google launched its Google Nexus 6 and Nexus 9. It was reported that these two devices are the first to run in Android L platform.

Let's take a look at these two operating systems'  functionality.

According to The Forbes, the screen design of Apple is like the 'brainchild' of its devices.

Meanwhile, Google has finally improved through its material design that offers better resolution.

Its UI is a major breakthrough as it is now unified and functions with other devices such as tablets and wearabe devices according to PC Advisor. Following Apple's unified UI for all its devices over the years.

It also added that the two operating systems upgraded their notification feature and users can expect a new interactive functionalities.

In Android L it features can be accessed in locked screen mode, and in ordered priority. It also enables different swipes to unlock, launch dialler and camera features. Apple already improved its lock screen features on its iOS 8 and now considered user-friendly especially on its i-Tunes Radio as noted by ValueWalk.

Furthemore, it also added that Anroid L improved its customizable screen. As we can note that it's response to iOS 8, "as the Apple operating system included a significantly enhanced notification system. The Apple operating system is notable in this regard for being particularly customizable, and it certainly compares favorably with Android."

Know Your Mobile reported that Android Lollipop "offers a fresh multitasking menu and additional ways to take advantage of voice commands."

It also offers better result compared to Siri and Cortana from IBTimes.

Android L also  allows multi tasking: users can swipe down or up to open apps and swipe right or left to close an app. In iOS 8 multi task bar can be access through home button.

Going forward, Android L offers security apps such as: unlocking the phone through bluetooth connection or face recognition. While, Apple boasts its TouchID that was first introduced in iPhone 5s. Android doesn't support an app like Touch iD but  some android devices offer a finger print sensor.

The highlight of Android that most of us didn't anticipate is the Android TV that offers a variety of entertainment features.

Android L also offers a power save mode that prolongs battery life and delivers up to 90 minutes of extra use per charge as reports claim.
