World's 3rd Top Smartphone Company Xiaomi Set To Launch Redmi Note In India By The End Of November

The now world's 3rd top smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is reportedly set to launch their smartphone Redmi Note in India by the end of November. It is said to go head to head against Apple's iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung's Galaxy Note 4, which have already hit the shelves last October.

The Redmi Note was supposed to be released in October but Xiaomi found it hard to ship a large number of the said device due to the Diwali Festive season. Xiaomi's Vice President for International Operations Hugo Barra said "This month is interesting because this is Diwali here and bringing the device in large quantities is turning out to be much more difficult. We can't even charter a plan to bring units to India from factories in China due to the rush."

The delay also gave them time to address some "logistic problems," as well as fine tune the device's software. "Depending on the feedback we have got for the earlier products that we launched here, we want more thorough field testing for the RedMi Note in India. We are using the latest MiUI software on it and trying it out in various conditions. In India, weather is hotter compared to most of the other markets where we sell RedMi Note. We want to make sure that when the product reaches market, it is flawless," added Barra.

The device comes with a 5.5-inch HD display and is run by a 1.7GHz octa-core processor. It has 2GB RAM with 720P screen resolution. Moreover, it is supported by a dual SIM-card with an 8GB internal storage. Its microSD card can be expanded up to 32GB. It comes with 4G LTE connectivity and powered by a 3,500 mAh battery. The Redmi Note has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The device will be priced at Rs 9,999.
