The Supergirl TV Series has been gaining alot of rumors and speculations as to how the story will pan out, and as to who will play the lead role. Recently, TV Line stated that the production is on its casting call stage, and they have the following profile for all actresses upon auditioning which gives us a pretty good hint as to how the storyline will pan out: "Kara at age 12 was sent from her dying home planet of Krypton to Earth, where she was taken in by the Danvers, a foster family who taught her to be careful with her extraordinary powers. After repressing said skills for more than a decade, Kara is forced to bust out her super moves in public during an unexpected disaster. Energized by her heroism for the first time in her life, she begins embracing her abilities in the name of helping the people of her city, earning herself a super moniker along the way."

As previously reported, CBS has confirmed that they have indeed commited to air Supergirl, even completely bypassing the stages of "pilot" and "in development." Looks like CBS is confident with this one.

Being a new drama on TV that airs for one hour per episode, the Supergirl TV Series will be coming in from Berlanti Productions, who is also responsible for The Flash and Arrow, both being aired on CW, this time, the series will be in association with Warner Bros. Television. Writers for the series will be Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler responsible for Chuck and No Ordinary Family, and sitting on the executive producer's chair will be Sarah Schecter, Berlanti Productions' veteran.

The TV series will be focusing on the story of Kara Zor-El, who happens to be Superman's cousin. Like her cousin, she was also born on the planet Krypton and managed to escape  and end up in Earth during Krypton's destruction years ago. After which she has dedicated her whole life into hiding her powers and ablities that her cousin also possess. But upon turning the age of 24, she finally decides to let go of her restrain and embrace her powers and abilities, ultimately being the hero "she was always meant to be."

As to who will play the infamous lead role, rumors have been surfacing the internet as soon as the news of the series being aired on CBS came out. On the list of Rumored actresses are Laura Vandervoort, who has already played Suergirl during the Smallville series, Yvonne Strahovski from Chuck, Ashley Hinshaw of True Blood, Lyndsy Fonseca from Nikita, Laura Haddock from Da Vinci's Demons, Britt Robertson of The Secret Circle, and Leven Rambin from Tomorrow People.
