HTC Desire 816 Vs Galaxy  Samsung S5: The HTC Desire 816 "selfie" focused camera was recently launched as one of its new flagship. While the Samsung Galaxy S5 was the latest Galaxy S flagship. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is a powerful phone that can still keep up with the latest flagships.

Design And Display

HTC Desire 816 has the dimensions of 156.6×78.7×7.9mm and boasts a 5.5inches LCD screen that supports 1280x720pixels with 267ppi.

While the Samsung Galaxy S5 stepped it a notch to feature a 1080p Super AMOLED screen display and  there is a little difference in  the screen size as the Samsung S5 pulls off a 5.1 inch super AMOLED with a full HD 1920x1080 pixel resolution. This should result in a pixel density of 430 pixels-per-inch (ppi).

Hardware and OS

Under the hood we'll see the big difference when it comes to its performance and killer specs.

The Desire 816 is powered by a 32-bit Snapdragon 400 chip with a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor that couples with an Adreno 305 GPU and 1.5GB of RAM.

The Galaxy S5 has a powerful processor of Snapdragon 600 processor and a great device to those who loves to multitask: play games, browse the internet  and stream their favorite shows/video. S5 carries the upgraded Adreno 330.

Both phones also share the same 16GB of internal storage and a 32GB variant for the Samsung Galaxy S5 and expandable external memory up to 128GB via a micro sd slot.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 originall runs on Android 4.2 Jellybean, can be updated to Android 4.4.4 Kitkat. It is also rumored that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop soon. While the HTC Desire 816 runs in Android 4.4.4 Kitkat with the latest HTC Sense 6 UI.

Camera

HTC is known for its good camera. Though a midrange phone the HTC Desire 816 sports a 13MP camera with 5MP front camera.

Meanwhile, S5 offers a 16MP Camera with ISOCELL technology, which makes it a better camera phone than S4's 13MP camera. Also, S5 is the only device that gives you the option of 4k video recording. Well, that means it can produce high quality videos.
