Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Apple iPhone 5s: Now that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is official and new flagships from Samsung have been unveiled the spotlight has taken away from the previous flagships Samsung Galaxy S5 and Apple iPhone 5s.

But these two previous flagships are still powerful to compete in the Android market.

Design and Display

When it comes to design Apple is known for its sophisticated aluminum shell and HTC adapted its unibody aluminum design, while Samsung manufactures most of its smartphone clad in a plastic. Apple's iPhone 5S offers a 4.0 inches display and its screen resolution of 640 x 1136 pixels and pixel density of 326 ppi a little bit disappointing.

Though Apple conquered the design features, the Samsung Galaxy S5 stepped it a notch to feature a 1080p Super AMOLED screen display and  there is a little difference in  the screen size as the Samsung S5 pulls off a 5.1 inch super AMOLED with a full HD 1920x1080 pixel resolution. This should result in a pixel density of 430 pixels-per-inch

Hardware and OS

The Samsung Galaxy S5 has a powerful processor of Snapdragon 600 processor and a great device to those who loves to multitask: play games, browse the internet  and stream their favorite shows/video. S5 carries the upgraded Adreno 330. It has a 16GB of internal storage and a 32GB variant for the Samsung Galaxy S5 and expandable external memory up to 128GB via a micro sd slot. The Samsung Galaxy S5 originall runs on Android 4.2 Jellybean, can be updated to Android 4.4.4 Kitkat. It is also rumored that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop soon

While the iPhone 5S has a dual core processor working at 1.3 GHz that is paired up with the Apple A7 chipset. Its RAM is at 1GB DDR3, but it has multiple options for internal memory: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Runs in iOS 7.1.2 and can be updated to iOS 8.

Battery

According to reports the iPhone 5S  1,560mAh battery can last up to 14 hours with its brightness set to just 50% and with other connectivity options (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS) turned off, t

Camera

The iPhone 5S offers an 8MP rear camera, geo-tagging, flashlight, 1080p video shooting, HDR photos and autofocus.

Samsung Galaxy S5 sports a higher megapixel rear camera 16MP with ISOCELL technology, which makes it a better camera phone than S4's 13MP camera. Also, S5 one of the few devices that gives you the option of 4k video recording
