Nov 21, 2014 09:04 PM EST | By Cindy Wallace

The Unbroken Movie Trailer has been reported to be cheesy, as it copies the angles of soldier-survival films almost exactly. However, the movie's ratings and reviews soared after its initial screening with film critics.

According to reports, fans are even eyeing the upcoming movie to be a sure runner for the coveted Oscars.

During an interview, cast Jai Courtney had this to say about the movie (as quoted from Huffington Post:) "'By the time I sort of bagged a role in it, I'd been in for several different ones. It was literally one of those cases where it was like, 'I don't care what I play, I just want to be a part of this movie,' Courtney told host Ricky Camilleri."

It has been previously reported that The Unbroken Movie trailer caused some, or many critics and spectators who instead of getting excited, felt the opposite, with the Movie's trailer.

The trailer, which can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrjJbl7kRrI shows the lead actor, Jack O'Connell, enduring the hardships his character went through, accompanied by the usual sad soundtrack you woud expect from an inspirational movie.

According to Hollywood.com,

"There's no doubt that the trailer gives plenty of attention to the darker moments of Zamperini's experiences - the scene where soldiers line up to punch him in the face should be enough of an indication of the terrible conditions that he endured - but there's something about the way the clip is cut together that makes Unbroken look a bit, well, cheesy. Maybe it's the swelling violins in the background, maybe it's the dramatic text overlay, or maybe it's the washed-out filter that the first half of the trailer has, but the trailer gives off the impression thatUnbroken is just a generic, corny tearjerker."

For the plot synopsis taken from comingsoon.net,

"Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie directs and produces 'Unbroken,' an epic drama that follows the incredible life of Olympian and war hero Louis 'Louie' Zamperini (Jack O'Connell) who, along with two other crewmen, survived in a raft for 47 days after a near-fatal plane crash in WWII-only to be caught by the Japanese Navy and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp. Adapted from Laura Hillenbrand's ('Seabiscuit: An American Legend') enormously popular book, 'Unbroken' brings to the big screen Zamperini's unbelievable and inspiring true story about the resilient power of the human spirit."

The Unbroken Movie stars Jack O'Connell, Domhnall Gleeson, Miyavi, Garrett Hedlund, and Finn Wittrock, and is set to be released on December 25, 2014 under Universal Pictures.
