Benedict Cumberbatch appears in the DreamWorks Animation, "Penguins of Madagascar" with other A-list actors. A few days after the release date, critics review the family movie and reveal that while it is indeed an animated film, it is built for both the young and the young at heart.

Released this week, "Penguins of Madagascar" takes after the events of "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted", where "Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private [are] the elitist of the elite are joining forces with a chic undercover organization, The North Wind. Led by handsome and husky Agent Classified [Benedict Cumberbatch]. Together, they must stop the villainous Dr. Octavius Brine, from destroying the world as we know it," according to DreamWorks Animation official synopsis.

Apart from Benedict CUmberbatch, "Penguins of Madagascar" stars Tom McGrath as Skipper, Chris Mille as Kowalski, Conrad Vernon as Rico and Christopher Knights as Private. Multi-awarded A-list actor John Malkovich joins "Penguins of Madagascar" as the ultimate villain, Dave or Dr. Octavius Brine.

After the "Penguins of Madagascar" release date, critics took to reviewing the animated film, and while generally "Penguins of Madagascar" is positively received by the public, critics are a bit torn.

Based on Rotten Tomatoes where "Penguins of Madagascar" received a 68% from 57 critics review, generally "'Penguins of Madagascar' is fast and brightly colored enough to entertain small children, but too frantically silly to offer real filmgoing fun for the whole family."

On the other hand, IGN reviews "Penguins of Madagascar" sharing that "'Penguins of Madagascar' is quick, colorful, kinetic, and will only cost you a bit of your sanity...for those older audience members dragged to see it by younger members of your clan, it's peppered with enough grown up-oriented humor to actually make it enjoyable in parts."

The adult(ish) humor is said to be attributed to the character Benedict Cumberbatch plays, Classified. He is a gray wolf and the team leader of the North Wind who joins together with the Penguins of Madagascar to battle the disgruntled octopus of John Malkovich names Dr. Octavius Brine.
