HTC has recently added a mid-range phone to its HTC Desire family, the HTC Desire 510. The Taiwan-based tech giant as reported,  wants to dominate the mid-range market with its new line of competitive Desire phone. As we can note the Desire 820 was the first mid-range phone to carry a 64-bit processor.

Design

HTC finally revamped its design on its Desire phones, following the HTC One M8 aluminun unibody design. The HTC Desire 510 boasts a 4.7-inch display with 854-by-480-pixel TFT LCD, a low-resolution compared to its siblings.

Meanwhile, the HTC Desire 820 carries a resemblance from its predecessor HTC Desire 816. Its unibody design is made up of glossy polycarbonate with rounded corners and sides. It has a dimension of 157.7x78.7x7.7mm and weighing 155grams. It sports a large 5.5inch 720p screen display with 271ppi.

Hardware and OS

The HTC Desire 510 is powered by Snapdragon 410 from Qualcomm for the EU model. The phone is supported by a 1GB RAM and an 8GB internal memory and expandable via microSD up to 64GB. In addition, a 4GB version is only available in the US.

The Desire 820 is one of the few Android phones that runs in 64-bit processor. It is powered byan octa- core with a quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 and quad core 1GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. It is supported by a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset that is 64-bit capable. Backed by a 2GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU which is higher than of the Samsung Galaxy Mega's Adreno 306.

Camera

HTC is known for its decent cameras but the 5MP is a bit disappointment and those selfie lover won't like the VGA front snapper.

The HTC Desire 820 sports a 13 mega pixels rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, HDR, HD video and image recording. Its 8MP front camera offers high quality images and best for a selfie snapper.

Battery And Price

The HTC Desire 510 is available off contract at $250, and the HTC Desire 820 around $380.

Verdict

HTC Desire 820 Vs HTC Desire 510: the HTC Desire 820 stands out in terms of design, feature and specs.The Desire 510 is not as promising like the its siblings. Though it boasts a 64-bit processor it still lacks decent features such as low-resolution screen display.
