7-Eleven Locations Will Give Away Free Slurpees, Discount Six Flags Tickets on Wednesday, 7/11

This Wednesday, 7-Eleven will be celebrating July 11 with their annual give away of free 7.11-ounce Slurpee drinks between the hours of 11:00am - 7:00pm at stores around the country, as part of "7-Eleven Day."

In addition to the free drinks, Six Flags, who partnered up with 7-Eleven this summer, will be giving special discount tickets at a price of $7.11 after 7:11pm local time, said a press release issued by 7-Eleven on Tuesday, if they present a receipt from any store purchased on Wednesday. The guests who arrive in the evening will also be able to attend the "Exclusive 7-Eleven Coasters After Dark" that evening, noted the press release.

"7-Eleven Day, or free Slurpee Day, gets bigger and more popular every year," Joe DePinto, 7-Eleven president and CEO, said for the press relesae. "This year we expect to give away 7 million Slurpee drinks, more than ever before, beating last year's offer by 2 million. On July 11th, we at 7-Eleven will recognize our 85th year as the retail leader of convenience, and it will mark the 45th birthday of our iconic drink - the Slurpee. But the day is also when we do something special to thank customers for their support and welcome new guests."

 The 7-Eleven's Big Summer Sweeps will also be taking place over the summer, where consumers who purchase items from the store that have the peel-play-and-win option can win an assortment of prizes from the game, ranging from small things like free bags of 7-Eleven brand chips all the way to a motorbike, said the press release, a trip to the football championship in New Orleans, and a Coca-Cola VIP race weekend.

"This is a tasty way to get Slurpee lovers to sample our refreshing summer flavors, especially our new sugar-free Slurpee Lite^TM," Laura Gordon, 7-Eleven vice president of brand innovation, was quoted as stating for the press release. "And, we plan to keep the fun rolling on all summer long. For example, during July, we offer the new flavors of Fanta Sugar-Free Strawberry Banana and a delicious Fanta Lemon Creme along with our regular Slurpee flavors."
