Lindsay Lohan is currently in talks to star in the fifth installment of the spoof "Scary Movie" films, said TheWrap, though they would not say who she would portray.

Lohan, who has had years of personal problems, including imprisonment and numerous court appearances, is slowly starting to go back to her acting career. She recently filmed the Lifetime biopic based on Elizabeth Taylor called "Liz & Dick," in which she will portray the Hollywood legend alongside Grant Bowler as Richard Burton.

She will also be working in "The Canyons," by director Paul Schrader and costarring notable adult-film actor James Deen. That film will be written by "American Psycho" author Bret Easton Ellis.

"Scary Movie 5" currently has "High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale attached, and the film itself is scheduled for an April 19, 2013 theatrical release. The film is set to begin filming this summer, said TheWrap, and directed by Malcolm Lee and David Zucker. Zucker wrote "Scary Movie 3" and "Scary Movie 4" when the Wayans brothers moved on from the series.

The "Scary Movie" franchise began years ago by the Wayans family, with Keenan Ivory Wayans as director, and brothers Shawn and Marlon as cowriters and costars of the first few films. The movie series was a spoof of Wes Craven's 1996 hit horror movie "Scream," starring Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette.

Anna Faris took on the Campbell character, portraying Cindy Campbell who was constantly shadowed by killers. Faris is not set to be back for the series, and thus Tisdale has taken on the lead role.
