HTC Desire 820 Vs HTC Desire 620: Can The New Flagship Beat Its Sibling? Design, Specs And Features Compared!

Among the mid-range Desire phones that the Taiwan tech company has launched, the HTC Desire 820 was the most competitive compared to its siblings. Launched at the IFA, it was he first mid-range phone that has a 64-bit bit processor.

Meanwhile, HTC has added the newest addition to its family, the HTC Desire 820. As the newest flagship, it is expected to have major upgrades.

HTC Desire 820 Vs HTC Desire 620: which is the better buy? The newest flagship or the 64-bit processor capable?

Design and Screen

The HTC Desire 820 carries a resemblance from its predecessor HTC Desire 816. Its unibody design is made up of glossy polycarbonate with rounded corners and sides. It is also available in different display of colors.

 It has a dimension of 157.7x78.7x7.7mm and weighing 155grams. It sports a large 5.5inch 720p screen display with 271ppi.

Meanwhile, the HTC Desire 620 is available in three different colors: white with a blue accent, grey with a light grey accent and gray with an orange accent, and pulls off a 5-inch 1280 x 720 HD Super LCD screen.

Hardware and OS

As we've already mentioned that the Desire  boasts a  64-bit processor and  one of the few Android phones that runs in such processor. It is powered by an octa- core with a quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 and quad core 1GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. It is supported by a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset that is 64-bit capable. Backed up by a 2GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. It offers a 16GB and 32GB internal storage, and expandable via a microSD.

On the other hand, let's not expect too much on the latest flagship. It's still a good buy, but does not feature the same powerful 64-bit processor found on its sibling. The Desire 620 it is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked speed of 1.2GHz, and supported by 1GB of RAM . It features an 8GB of internal storage and expandable via a microSD up to 128GB.

The HTC Desire 620 will be shipped running on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat and HTC Sense 6.0

Camera

The HTC Desire 820 sports a 13 mega pixels rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, HDR, HD video and image recording. Its 8MP front camera offers high quality images and best for a selfie snapper.

In comparison, the Desire 620 has an 8-megapixel rear shooter and 5MP front snapper. Both cameras is said to feature the capability to capture 1080p video.

Price

HTC Desire 820 costs around $450. (Prices may vary in different regions), while the new HTC Desire 620's pricing is yet to announce.
