'Game Of Thrones' Star Jason Momoa To Play Aquaman; Wants Zack Snyder To Direct DC Solo Film

Dec 12, 2014 09:15 AM EST | By Josh Samuel

During a recent Comic-Con event in Sao Paulo in Brazil, "Game of Thrones" star Jason Momoa talked about his upcoming role as Aquaman and how excited he is in portraying the Atlantean superhero, hinting that the role is definitely gonna be a badass character.

Moreover, the actor was very vocal in saying that he wanted Zack Snyder to helm his "Aquaman" solo film. Reports said that Momoa is a big fan of the director, the main man who gave us the "visual flare" in the "300" and "Man of Steel" movies. No wonder Momoa wanted him for Aquaman's solo film! We can just imagine how Snyder will depict Atlantis should he helm the said movie!

The talented director has said during his past interviews that Momoa's character will be "meaner, tougher and warrior-esque" in the big screen, as compared to the original comics version, which we think is perfect for the actor's physique when he was confirmed to play the said character. However, we are not sure if he will get his wish because we all know that Snyder has been busy with "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice," which is now on its post production stage, plus the fact that he is going to have a back-to-back shoot of the "Justice League" Part 1 & 2 movies, not to mention he is also producing the "Wonder Woman" solo film which stars Israeli actress Gal Gadot.

The young director has a lot on his plate we don't know how "Aquaman" will fit into his already tight schedule. But we would understand Momoa's sentiment since it was Snyder who got to discuss with the actor how they are gonna depict the role, at least when he joins the rest of DC's superheroes in the upcoming "Justice League" movies, as well as his rumored cameo role in the "Dawn of Justice" film.
