Meanwhile, Samsung recently launched its Samsung Galaxy Duos, another dual-sim capable phone that can be a stiff competitor to HTC's Desire family with a lower price tag.

Design and Screen

The HTC Desire 820q boasts a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display of 5.5 inches and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and measures of 157.7 x 78.7 x 7.7mm and weighs around 155grams; clad in a glossy polycarbonate shell.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Grand Duos features a faux leather like we've seen on the back of the Note 3, and pulls off a smaller screen of 5 inches TFT screen with a resolution of 480×800 pixels at 187ppi.

The HTC Desire 820 compared to its original variant. It 820q is powered by 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 quad core processor with 1 GB DDR2 RAM, and does not support a 64-bit processor. It is currently shipped running on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and according to the report of The Rem the said device will most likely to be upgraded to Android Lollipop.

In addition, they have the same internal memory of 16GB, the Desire 820 allows more external storage up to 128GB through a MicroSD.

The Samsung Galaxy Duos houses an inferior chipset of a Cortex A9 processor with two cores, clocked at 1.2GHz and uses Broadcom VideoCore IV graphics; supported by 1Gb of RAM. It offers 8GB of internal storage and expandable up to 64Gb via microSD.

The HTC Desire 820q has a 13MP autofocus rear camera with f/2.2 lens, BSI sensor, HDR and LED flash that allows users to shoot 1080p videos at 30 fps. Meanwhile, the 8MP front facing camera can capture decent self-portrait photo for the 'selfie' fanatics.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos sports an 8MP back camera with LED flash, autofocus, geo tagging, face and smile detection and 1080p@30fps video capturing capability; and a 2MP front snapper.
