Following the temporary permission to sell and import their devices that are powered only by Qualcomm chipsets, that is until January 8,2015, world's top 3 phone maker Xiaomi has announced that it will hold a flash sale of their top seller handset Redmi 1S which took place last December 23.

This was revealed by Xiaomi's Vice President for International Relations Hugo Barra on his Facebook page, also indicating that registration for Xiaomi Redmi 1S will open shortly. "We are happy to announce that the Delhi High Court today issued a ruling in our favor, allowing us to resume sales in India subject to certain terms," Barra confirmed.

Moreover, Xiaomi will begin selling again their Redmi Note phablet but this time, they will be bringing in the 4G version since it is the one powered by Qualcomm chipset, while the original version is being run by Mediatek processor which is not allowed to enter the Indian territory, until perhaps, Xiaomi settles legal dispute with its patent issues against Swedish network equipment vendor Ericsson.

Priced at only USD100 (£60; Rs5,999), the device has great features that include 4.7in IPS display, runs on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating platform, with a 1GB RAM. Redmi 1S also showcases an 8MP primary camera and a 1.6MP secondary camera. The device also provides users of an 8GB internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB via an external microSD card. Moreover, a 2,000 mAh battery powers the entire Xiaomi Redmi 1S device.

Xiaomi smartphones have made a mark in the Indian market from the time the "Apple of China" has released its products in the country the past months. They have been giving their competitors such as Samsung, Motorola, and even Apple, a run for their money because of their super affordable phones but with premium quality. They are on the right track having targeted the Indian market as the latter is reportedly the fastest growing smartphone market globally according to research firm International Data Corporation (India).
