White Castle announced that it will open a new factory facility in Ohio next year for the mass selling of their famous small burgers and cheeseburgers in frozen version at grocery and convenient stores all across the country.

White Castle will open the new facility in Vandalia near the Dayton International Airport, and is estimated to cost $18 million for the first phase of construction, said a press release issued by White Castle on Thursday. When the frozen food factory opens, it is set to create 100 permanent jobs in the Vandalia area. The announcement was made by White Castle CEO Bill Ingram and Vandalia city officials at a ceremony in Stonequarry Crossings on Thursday.

"We're proud to call Ohio home, and excited about these future plans to add more jobs in our home state," White Castle CEO E. W. "Bill" Ingram III said for the press release. "The Ohio economic development team is a tremendous partner. We're enthusiastic about the Vandalia site and we're honored that our family-owned business can be a jobs creator, investing with a new production facility."

The first phase of construction, noted the press release, on the reported 75,000 square foot building will start this fall, and is set to open around summer 2013. This will be the third factory plant for White Castle in the United States, with two already located at Covington and Louisville, Kent.

"When we began developing plans for Stonequarry Crossings in 2008, we were striving to attract more jobs to Vandalia and maintain a reputation for a high quality of life for residents," City Manager Robert Anderson stated for the press release. "With White Castle building this new facility, together we're creating new prosperity for our region."

"The City of Vandalia has much to offer to White Castle," Mayor Arlene Setzer was quoted as stating for the press release. "We have a strong and dedicated workforce, as well as a supportive community. We will continue to offer White Castle all that it needs to thrive in our city."
