Microsoft Officially Announced Forza Motorsport 6 Xbox One Exclusive; Features A Flashy Ford GT Cover Car, Gameplay Footage To Be Revealed At E3 In June

Today, Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios announced their upcoming franchise, Forza Motorsport 6 at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The upcoming game title revealed as an Xbox One exclusive and gameplay footage will be unveiled at E3 in June.

The Forza Motorsport 6 features the new Ford GT as its cover car alongside with other Ford's performance cars Shelby GT350 Mustang, and F-150 Raptor that were launched at the auto show.

Futhermore, Forza marks its 10th year anniversary today which debuted on Xbox in 2005. The most recent entry in the series is the Forza Motorsport 5 that was released in 2013 for the Xbox One. Forza Horizon 2, which focuses more on open-road driving, was launched last year for the Xbox One and Xbox 360, Gamespot reports.

The game developers dished out limited details on the game. Dan Greenawalt, creative director at Turn 10 Studios said in an interview, "Just as Ford has pushed the boundaries of car technology in GT, Forza Motorsport 6 will embrace that spirit of innovation as our most technically advanced racing simulation to date, offering a fun and realistic automotive experience for both car lovers and gamers."

 "We're excited to unveil gameplay at E3 in June," he adds.

Meanwhile, Turn 10's John Wendl told Polygon that the company's tie up with Ford allowed the developers, engineers and designers to work closely with car manufacturer during the design stage of both the game and the car.

John Wendl reveals, "We've been doing this game series for a long time. But this is the first time we've been able to launch a car and a game at the same time."

Forza Motorsport 6 release date is speculated to be on Q4 of 2015.
