New Nintendo 3DS US Release Date Might Be On February 13; A Trade-in Deal Will Be Offered Any Time Soon, Tipped By GamesStop

The new Nintendo 3DS has already been released to Japan, Australia and New Zealand in 2014, and was announced in the US last fall. But its launch to the US and Europe has not been confirmed yet.

The New Nintendo 3DS, includes a long list of new features, including an analog nub, additional ZL and ZR shoulder buttons, improved 3D, integrated NFC support for Amiibo, a faster CPU, and replaceable cover plates.

Gamnesia reported yesterday that a source in GameStop has revealed that they will release promotional materials any time soon, and a trade-in deal with the New Nintendo 3DS was also disclosed.

Those who trade-in a regular 3DS will receive a $75 credit while 3DS XL will get a $100 credit for the New Nintendo 3DS. The source also added that the New Nintendo 3DS release has been listed on their systems for February 13, 2015. Reportedly, pre-orders might start today.

Meanwhile, the limited edition Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Edition has been up for grabs for Club Nintendo members who received an invitation e-mail. Nintendo EDS Ambassador Edition sports exclusive cover plates, Super Smash Bros. cover plates and a charging cradle and costs around £179.99

Examiner adds that Nintendo will host another video presentation in Japan today, specifically at 9am Eastern and 6am Pacific in North America, and at 2pm GMT for the UK. It is said that Nintendo Direct is "focused on spring 2015 Wii U and Nintendo 3DS titles," but rumors also suggest that Nintendo will finally reveal the release date of the New Nintendo 3DS to the west.It might also share details on early 2015 games like Mario Maker, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, and Majora's Mask 3D.
