Matthew Vaughn, director "X-Men: First Class" and the upcoming "Kingsman: The Secret Service" is also onboard the Fantastic Four remake as a producer.

Flickering Myth caught up with Vaughn for an exclusive interview promoting Kingsman; he was also asked a few questions about Fantastic Four since updates on the movie's marketing have been "very quiet". The director confirms that he has already seen the film, adding that "it's good."

Here's the exact quote from the interview taken from Screen Rant:

"I thought Chronicle was a fantastic movie and [Josh] Trank has gone off and done his version of Fantastic Four. If you like Chronicle, then you'll like this... We're all backing Josh Trank's vision... And hopefully the world will like Josh Trank's vision."

Chronicle was an American sci-fi flick which is also Josh Trank's directorial debut.

Much like Fan Four's plot, the story followed three teenagers discovering their powers. Michael B. Jordan who stars as the new Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch also appeared in Chronicle.

Chronicle earned an estimated $8.65 million on its first day exceeding Fox's expectation of $8 million. The movie finished the weekend of its release at $22 million.

Despite receiving negative feedback about the new cast of Fantastic Four, Fox is so confident of Josh Trank's remake they have already announced a sequel that is due out in 2017.

Here's the official synopsis for Trank's Fantastic Four via Screen Rant:

"THE FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel's original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy."

The movie is slated to release on August 7.
