Resident Evil HD Remaster PS3, PS4 Release Date: Capcom Will Be Giving Special Offers On Game Remake To Sony PlayStation Network European Users

Unfortunately, European-based users of Sony's PlayStation Network service won't be able to pre-order "Resident Evil HD," a remake of "Resident Evil" for Gamecube, which was originally released in 2002 exclusively for Nintendo's box-shaped console.

However, "Resident Evil" developer Capcom will offer these gamers something else in return for their troubles, VG247 reports.

Capcom will reportedly allow anyone who buys the Resident Evil remake on the European version of PSN to cross-buy the game.

This means that when the consumers buy "Resident Evil HD" for PlayStation 3, they'll also be able to play it on PlayStation 4. Conversely, if they buy "Resident Evil HD" on a PlayStation 4 console, that game will be available for play on your PlayStation 3 as well.

The ability to cross-buy the game across multiple platforms in this manner was an offer originally only extended to gamers that pre-ordered "Resident Evil HD." However, because European PSN users are not able to pre-order the game at all, Capcom has decided to extend this offer to post-launch purchases as an olive branch.

"Resident Evil HD" is a remake of "Resident Evil" for Gamecube, which in itself was a remake of the original Resident Evil released for the inaugural PlayStation console back in the mid 1990s.

The Gamecube remake added much-improved graphics, along with extra content. The first "Resident Evil" remake was widely praised by gamers and critics alike. Some even consider it to be the best Resident Evil game ever made.

"Resident Evil HD" will be released on January 20.
