Ryan Lochte's sister Megan Lochte Torrini is causing quite the controversy after she was mistaken to be the Olympic medalist's girlfriend, instead of his sister.
After winning gold against Michael Phelps in the 400m individual medley swimming event, Lochte was seen with a "mystery girl" on his lap, flaunting ample cleavage. Turns out, it was Ryan's sister, Megan and not a girlfriend.
As Buzzfeed points out, the woman sitting on Lochte's lap is his 31-year-old sister, Megan Lochte Torrini. When this photo, followed by this image hit the Internet, social media sites like Facebook and Twitter went bonkers.
The US Olympic swimmer was caught by photographers hanging around London shortly after swimming events concluded for the Games. TMZ had this report and published the photo below. It turns out the woman on his lap is not such a "mystery woman" after all but is his girlfriend.
Some media outlets had also gone all out in claiming that she was Ryan's girlfriend. SportsGrid, for instance, had linked Torrini and her showy shirt to the swimming star after pictures were released on them goofing around in the backseat of a car with some friends.
So, Ryan Lochte's sister is not the "mystery woman" in the swimmer's life. She's just a sibling who is proud of her Olympic gold medalist little brother.
