'Zoolander 2' News: Christine Taylor Confirmed Reprising Her Role As Matilda; Latest News On Sequel Inside

Talks of a "Zoolander 2" began way back in 2008 and since then the project has received occasional updates. At one point, even Penelope Cruz was rumored to join the cast. But the sequel to 2001's comedy film is indeed moving forward, reports that a script is already in place, rumored to be written by Justin Theroux and Ben Stiller himself.

Christine Taylor, who appeared in the first film as Zollander's love interest Matilda now confirms that "Zoolander 2" is still a go. She tells Entertainment Weekly how her investigative reporter role is coming back, but is keeping mum on other details about the film.

"I can tell you that I'm involved, but that's all I can say," the actress said.

"I can tell you it's happening, but I can't tell you where Matilda's at and where their relationship is at. It's all top secret!"

Back in 2011, Ben Stiller discussed the plot of the upcoming sequel in an exclusive with Empire Magazine.

"It's ten years later and most of it is set in Europe. I don't want to give away too much, but it's basically Derek and Hansel ten years later - though the last movie ended on a happy note a lot of things have happened in the meantime. Their lives have changed and they're not really relevant anymore. It's a new world for them. Will Ferrell is written into the script and he's expressed interest in doing it. I think Mugatu is an integral part of the Zoolander story, so yes, he features in a big way."

The original story follows Derek Zoolander, a dim-witted male model who after three consecutive years of winning the "Male Model of The Year Award" is beaten by a newcomer called Hansel. Derek starts to search for a new meaning in his life when top designer Mugatu offers him a comeback to save his career. Little did he know that Mugatu has a bigger plan for Zoolander, brainwashing him into killing the Malaysian Prime Minister.
