'Warcraft' Movie Director Duncan Jones On What To Expect; Alliance Actor Travis Fimmel Compares Upcoming Film To 'Vikings'

Jan 30, 2015 01:38 PM EST | By Fred Yelland

"Vikings" actor Travis Fimmel discusses a few details about his other project "Warcraft," teasing that the two are "very different."

"The fighting style is very different," the actor tells IGN, adding "There's all of those special effects [in Warcraft]."

He also added, "the costume is like wearing a table, so it's not as nimble. It's very visually based."

Fimmel also described how it is filming for "Warcraft," revealing that he had to use his imagination in motion capture sequences that required him to talk to characters the weren't in front of him.

"I found out this wasn't my favorite way of working," tells the actor.

The director, Duncan Jones touched on what can be expected from the "Warcraft" plot, revealing that he wanted production to stay true to the game's history.

"As you may know, there has been a long history of trying to make a Warcraft film, and for a number of reasons, it never quite happened," said Jones.

"I was lucky. When I went to talk to Chris Metzen and the guys at Blizzard, we both saw things the same way. A Warcraft film should not be about a good race of humans battling an evil race of orcs! Warcraft should be about heroes on both sides trying to avoid a conflict, when villains leave them no choice."

Leading The Alliance is actor Travis Fimmel, while Toby Kebbell of "Rock n' Rolla" stars as Durotan. Paula Patton, Rob Kazinsky, Clancy Brown, Ben Schnetzer, Ben Forster, and Hong Kong actor Daniel Wu have all been reported joining the cast.

"Warcraft" is in production under Universal and Legendary Pictures and is expected to release in theaters by March 2016.
