Canon Officially Announces The EOS 5DS/ 5DS R and 11-24mm f/4L; News And Specs On The 50.6 MP DSLR

Rumors and speculations were put to an end as Canon officially announced the arrival of their EOS 5DS - a 50.6 mega pixel DSLR camera. This makes Canon the top brand that offers the highest resolution of any full-frame sensor on the market. They have also announced the 5DS r, essentially the same as the 5DS in features sans the anti-aliasing filter.

Along with the two cameras, the Japanese manufacturer also unveiled the 11-24mm f/4L, Canon's latest update to their ultra wide series of lenses.

Here's a comprehensive list of specifications of the EOS 5DS.

The sensor's advanced architecture provides ISO 100-6400 sensitivity, further expandable to 50-12800, ensuring high quality images with low noise, accurate colours and wide dynamic range."

All these features don't come cheap: the 5DS retails for $3,699; the 5DS R at $3,899. The 11-24mm f/4L is priced at $2,999.
