As many know by now, "Star Wars" will be returning to the big screen this year under the direction of J.J. Abrams. "The Force Awakens" is the seventh movie series started by creator George Lucas in 1977, it will set the stage to continue the beloved saga as well as introduce new characters.

The movie has released one trailer teaser showing new faces, familiar places, and an epic scene of the Millenium Falcon in action -  this gave fans and followers a taste of one of, if not the, most anticipated release of 2015.

It has been reported that Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford are returning to their iconinc roles of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, and Han Solo, respectively.

The new characters seen in the trailer have already been identified by Abrams: Daisy Ridley plays the character named Rey, she is believed to be Han and Leia's daughter; John Boyega as the Storm Trooper without the helmet, Finn; and the darkside character with the cross-guard lightsaber is believed to be played by Adam Driver.

Hamill, speaking to LA Times to promote Kingsman: The Secret Service also spoke about his part in the upcoming "Star Wars" installment.

"I would have been completely okay with it not including us, but I do think having the original cast members there gives it a sense of continuity and scope." he said.

"But mind you, it's really about the new generation, it's not about us."

Much talk about J.J. Abrams' "The Force Awakens" have surfaced since the first trailer; hardcore fans debating on storylines and that much-discussed unconventional lightsaber. Hamill goes against this idea, suggesting to fans that "it's just a movie."

"Believe me, it will be here before you know it. Forget about it - that's my advice. Look forward to all the summer movies. I'm telling you, it's just a movie. These people that build it up in their minds like it's going to be the second coming of, I don't know what - they're bound to be disappointed."

Wise words from the Jedi himself.

Apart from Hamill, Ford, and Fisher, the movie will star Oscar Isaac (A Most Violent Year), Lupita Nyong'O (12 Years A Slave), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Daisy Ridley (Mr. Selfridge), John Boyega (Attack The Block) and Adam Davis (Girls).

"Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" opens in theaters on Dec. 19.
