Prince Harry Vegas pictures have been leaked to the media and more than 68 million people around the world have searched for the photos online and seen them, however, the British Royal family has banned the photos from appearing in England.

British newspapers and TV stations have been unable to show the pictures after Harry's father Prince Charles threatened legal action and St James's Palace warned that the pictures were a gross invasion of the young royal's privacy.

The photos were taken by a mobile phone by an unknown source in a Las Vegas hotel suite and sold to gossip website, TMZ. They show Prince Harry butt-naked while an also nude woman holds him from behind. In another photo, Prince Harry is seen hugging a naked woman with his bottom bared to the camera as they tussle with a pool cue.

The Las Vegas pictures have sparked a security alert with questions raised about the prince's protection. Minutes after naked images of Prince Harry appeared on TMZ, they were also available to millions of internet users around the world - including those in Britain.

Prince Harry returned to the UK last night after the pictures were leaked online. Lawyers for Prince Charles issued threats of legal action against media outlets that printed them. Meanwhile, the pictures continued to be available online, making a mockery of British privacy laws.

Popular blogs picked up on the story and published the pictures within an hour of them appearing on TMZ.  The website was even running a poll asking its viewers if Prince Harry was 'awesome' or 'disgraceful'.  More than 340,000 had voted, with almost two-thirds opting for 'awesome'.

Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte was also in town for the party in Las Vegas with Prince Harry.

Lochte recently sat down with "Today" and talked about how he was famously challenged by Harry to a swimming race at the hotel pool party.

"He's part of the royal family and everything, but he's really a nice guy,'' he said. "He's really talkative. He just wanted to meet me and honestly wanted to race me. I thought that was the coolest thing.''
