The HTC One M7 owners in Europe finally received the Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA.

Though HTC tech skipped the 90 day deadline of the update in November, it kept its promise to bring Android 5.0 Lollipop to the One M7, GSM Arena reports.

The update gives the phone a "new notifications system, delivered as cards to your lock screen, as well as the new Rolodex style recent apps view, which we think is much nicer than the thumbnail style previously offered by HTC," and bug fixes Pocket Lint reports.

GSM Arena adds that owners of the 2013 phone must also note before updating their devices that the file size of the update is at 808MB.

Meanwhile, Samsung is slowly updating its Galaxy S series in the US from Galaxy S5, S4, S3, S5 Mini, S5 Active to its Galaxy Alpha. (via Tech Times)

Verizon was first to roll out the OTA to Samsung Galaxy S5 and T-Mobile followed several days after, while AT&T owners are still waiting for the update. Despite Samsung Galaxy S5 already receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, there are reports that its other variants the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active and Samsung Galaxy S5 mini might get the update months later.

On the other hand, there still hope that Samsung Galaxy S4 owners in the US may still receive the update as users in Russia and India are now enjoying their new OS. Meanwhile, there are no words about the Samsung Galaxy S3's update that's still running on Android ICS.

Moreover, according to Android Central  other flagships like the LG G3 have also received the Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA through US carriers like AT&T and Sprint. Carriers in Canada such as Bell, Fido, MTS, Rogers, Sasktel, Videotron and Virgin Mobile Canada will start sending the OTA update anytime soon.
