"Sherlock" season 4 showrunners Steven Moffat previously admitted that scheduling was a nightmare for the production.
With the recent award season, as well as Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter's surprise wedding, it looks like filming for the hit BBC show has been put on the back burner for now.
However, now that "The Imitation Game" star and his new wife have finally made it back home from their honeymoon in Bora Bora, will he go straight to filming for the Emmy Award winning show's fourth season?
Despite his fondness for the show, the 38-year-old father-to-be wants to spend a bit more quality time with his new family.
According to the Daily Mail, Cumberbatch is planning to take a lengthy vacation to "do some nesting" with his 36-year-old wife.
"I've been on muddy fields and on horseback playing Richard III for the BBC and I've been on more flights to Los Angeles and back than I can count," he told the publication back in February. "All of that has been special, but I'm ready to have a couple of months to ourselves to prepare for the baby and do some nesting."
Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are also preparing to welcome their first child to the world.
"It's a real-life role, not a part," the talented actor pointed out.
The British star was also adamant to raise his family on familiar grounds. He recently debunked the rumors that he and his wife will be moving to Los Angeles after the baby is born.
"My friends are here, my family are here, Sophie is here; it doesn't make sense to uproot my whole life... I can travel for work, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else full-time," He told The Independent via Hollywood.com.
Meanwhile, stars of "Sherlock" season 4 was previously spotted filming for the Christmas special which will reportedly air later this year.
Although the general plotline is still unknown, Cumberbatch and co-stars Martin Freeman and Abby Abbington were spotted filming in various locations wearing Victorian era outfits.
Executive producers Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat have also dropped hints about the upcoming new season.
Meanwhile, Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter's baby will be born sometime this summer.
